Graduating (again!)
Although I have been a registered nurse for over 3 years now, I recently graduated from Texas A&M University with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. I moved to Aggieland to attend nursing school at Blinn College, where I received my Associate Degree in Nursing in 2014. I knew after graduating, passing my NCLEX, and starting my first job as a registered nurse, that I had to go back to school for my Bachelor’s. However, it took two years for me to finally force myself to go back to school. By this time, I was head over heels for Texas A&M and a sweet Aggie boy that had taught me all about the great traditions of this university. So, there was no debate on which program I was to apply.
Fifteen months later, here I am with my degree in hand and this sexy piece of gold on my finger as a symbol of my accomplishments. Although I didn’t go the traditional route towards my Bachelor degree, there are a lot of beautiful things that wouldn’t have happened if my path had not brought me to College Station, TX. I met the man who supported me mentally, emotionally, and physically through, not just one, but two nursing programs and I have had the honor to meet and work with great nurses who are now my best friends.
As my husband and I make plans to move from this sweet, sweet place, I can’t help but get tearful in thinking back to how I got here and how much I have accomplished. Man, aren’t God’s plans just perfect?
So wherever we may go, “We are the Aggies, the Aggies are we.”
Thanks & Gig ’em, Aggieland!
