My Everyday Minimal Day & Night Skincare Routine
Hey there, guys! I’m back with another blog post, and I’m excited to get back to it. Tonight, I’m talking skincare and what products I’m currently using. I keep my skincare routine pretty simple and quick, but that’s just what works better for my skin. These five products pictured above are what I use almost everyday besides the occasional face mask when my skin is needing some extra loving.
Morning Routine
Step 1: Cleanse
I have been using 100% Pure’s Argan Oil Creamy Cleanser for a few months now. I was looking to transition over to a natural, organic cleanser, and it stood out to me when researching. A blog post that I found useful was The Good Trade’s, 7 Of Our Favorite Natural & Organic Face Washes for a Fresh Face. But I have to say that I didn’t LOVE this cleanser. The main reason I didn’t love it was that it didn’t lather up. I really love a face wash that foams up; it just makes it seem like it’s cleaning the long day away. But it did have some elements that I liked; for example, it has a fresh, clean smell and it does leave my face feeling very moisturized (it’s infused with many beneficial oils that prevent that dry, stripped-away feeling).
Step 2: Serum
I have been alternating between two serums this year, the Glossier Super Pure and BeautyCounter’s Rejuvenating Radiance Serum. I use Glossier’s Super Pure serum when my skin is not looking it’s finest, and I can feel those breakouts about to emerge. I can’t say that this serum prevents me from breaking out, but it doesn’t seem to help reduce the redness and longevity of those pesky breakouts. I have been using this serum for a couple of years now, so I think the next time I run out, I will be looking for a different one to try.
I use the BeautyCounter’s Rejuvenating Radiance Serum every day that I don’t use the Glossier Super Pure. I was actually very surprised about how much I liked it. It has great reviews online, but it wasn’t one of BeautyCounter’s bestsellers and for the price, that kind of scared me. But I’m so glad I tried it. This serum is so lightweight and absorbs into the skin so well, leaving my skin looking smooth and radiant.
Step 3: Moisturizer
I’m going to say it, The True Cream- Moisturizing Bomb by Belif, is my absolute favorite moisturizer! Yes, I went there, and I’m not taking it back! I already have a back up ready to go. I have been using this moisturizer for a year now and I’m still obsessed. It leaves my face feeling so dewy and moisturized. The product absorbs completely and doesn’t leave that heavy, sticky feeling that some moisturizers do. It also transitioned well from winter into spring and summer. It’s a simple product that does exactly what you need it to. I absolutely recommend this product!
Nighttime Routine
Step 1: Cleanse
At night, I cleanse with the same cleanser I use in the morning (the Argan Oil Creamy Cleanser), but if I wore makeup that day, I do like to remove it before cleansing. I tend to use the Unscented Simple Micellar Water or Sephora’s Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes.
Step 2: Overnight Peel
Instead of just moisturizing and getting to bed, some nights I use the Overnight Resurfacing Peel by BeautyCounter. This product is the one that makes me feel boujee AF. I was recommended this product by two friends of mine that love BeautyCounter, and I see why they love it so much.
Don’t let the word “peel” scare you. I remember messaging my friend and asking her if it was actually ok to leave this on all night. BeautyCounter’s precise combination of acids actually prevents irritation or over-drying, which you may see in other peels when left on the skin too long. Upon applying, you may feel a slight tingle which subsides quickly and the next morning you wake with skin looking brighter and hydrated. It’s seriously like having a facial while you sleep. This stuff is too good, and I might need to open a savings account just for my BeautyCounter products.
And, well, that was it. I’m a simple girl with a simple skincare routine. Thanks so much for sticking through to the end.
