New Year’s Resolutions

Can you believe how fast 2018 went by?! I hope you all had a great year. Kevin and I had quite a year – full of many spontaneous changes. At the beginning of 2018, we decided that we wanted to move closer to our families. And let me tell y’all, it was so scary, but we did it, and we are so glad we did. Life is too short to not do what makes us happy or let fear hold us back.

Now with this new year beginning, we are excited to see what’s to come. Many of the changes we made in 2018 were to set us up for a better 2019. So I’m sitting down and thinking about all the things I want for the new year. Kevin is not into New Year’s resolutions, but I sure am. And I thought I would share.

My New Year’s Resolutions:

  1. Hustle less for money, hustle more for joy: We will always want or need more money. It seems like all there is to do in life is work to pay bills, and well, that doesn’t seem like a life well lived. This year, I want to make life more about experiences and spending more time with family and friends. Yes, work is necessary, but it’s not all I’m here to do.
  2. Travel More: Last year, Kevin and I were unable to travel. With the mortgage payment and all the bills, the only logical thing to do was to just work and work and work. This year, we hope to visit a couple of places. First on the list: Nashville, Tennessee or Colorado.
  3. It’s all about skincare: I’m a little-to-no makeup kind of girl, but that doesn’t work when I don’t take care of my skin. So this year, I’m investing on the skincare. I’m after the glow and living out Glossier’s motto: “Skincare first, makeup second.”
  4. Drink more water: I hate to admit this, but I go days without drinking water. And, well, that just needs to change. My kidneys and skin will thank me for it too!
  5. & last but not least, to Simplify: When moving from our house to our apartment, Kevin and I noticed we have too many things that we didn’t need. This year, I would like to really think about what I buy. It’s more about quality vs. quantity.

And there they are, my new year’s resolutions. Cheers to a wonderful 2019 and I hope it’s full of many blessings.
