My Everyday Minimal Day & Night Skincare Routine

Hey there, guys! I’m back with another blog post, and I’m excited to get back to it. Tonight, I’m talking skincare and what products I’m currently using. I keep my skincare routine pretty simple and quick, but that’s just what works better for my skin. These five products pictured above are what I use almost everyday besides the occasional face mask when my skin is needing some extra loving.

Morning Routine

Step 1: Cleanse

I have been using 100% Pure’s Argan Oil Creamy Cleanser for a few months now. I was looking to transition over to a natural, organic cleanser, and it stood out to me when researching. A blog post that I found useful was The Good Trade’s, 7 Of Our Favorite Natural & Organic Face Washes for a Fresh Face. But I have to say that I didn’t LOVE this cleanser. The main reason I didn’t love it was that it didn’t lather up. I really love a face wash that foams up; it just makes it seem like it’s cleaning the long day away. But it did have some elements that I liked; for example, it has a fresh, clean smell and it does leave my face feeling very moisturized (it’s infused with many beneficial oils that prevent that dry, stripped-away feeling).

Step 2: Serum

I have been alternating between two serums this year, the Glossier Super Pure and BeautyCounter’s Rejuvenating Radiance Serum. I use Glossier’s Super Pure serum when my skin is not looking it’s finest, and I can feel those breakouts about to emerge. I can’t say that this serum prevents me from breaking out, but it doesn’t seem to help reduce the redness and longevity of those pesky breakouts. I have been using this serum for a couple of years now, so I think the next time I run out, I will be looking for a different one to try.

I use the BeautyCounter’s Rejuvenating Radiance Serum every day that I don’t use the Glossier Super Pure. I was actually very surprised about how much I liked it. It has great reviews online, but it wasn’t one of BeautyCounter’s bestsellers and for the price, that kind of scared me. But I’m so glad I tried it. This serum is so lightweight and absorbs into the skin so well, leaving my skin looking smooth and radiant.

Step 3: Moisturizer

I’m going to say it, The True Cream- Moisturizing Bomb by Belif, is my absolute favorite moisturizer! Yes, I went there, and I’m not taking it back! I already have a back up ready to go. I have been using this moisturizer for a year now and I’m still obsessed. It leaves my face feeling so dewy and moisturized. The product absorbs completely and doesn’t leave that heavy, sticky feeling that some moisturizers do. It also transitioned well from winter into spring and summer. It’s a simple product that does exactly what you need it to. I absolutely recommend this product!

Nighttime Routine

Step 1: Cleanse

At night, I cleanse with the same cleanser I use in the morning (the Argan Oil Creamy Cleanser), but if I wore makeup that day, I do like to remove it before cleansing. I tend to use the Unscented Simple Micellar Water or Sephora’s Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes.

Step 2: Overnight Peel

Instead of just moisturizing and getting to bed, some nights I use the Overnight Resurfacing Peel by BeautyCounter. This product is the one that makes me feel boujee AF. I was recommended this product by two friends of mine that love BeautyCounter, and I see why they love it so much.

Don’t let the word “peel” scare you. I remember messaging my friend and asking her if it was actually ok to leave this on all night. BeautyCounter’s precise combination of acids actually prevents irritation or over-drying, which you may see in other peels when left on the skin too long. Upon applying, you may feel a slight tingle which subsides quickly and the next morning you wake with skin looking brighter and hydrated. It’s seriously like having a facial while you sleep. This stuff is too good, and I might need to open a savings account just for my BeautyCounter products.

And, well, that was it. I’m a simple girl with a simple skincare routine. Thanks so much for sticking through to the end.

xo, Rebecca

Murals on 12 South, Nashville.

Kevin and I recently went to Nashville, TN, and we absolutely enjoyed it! One of our favorite areas of Nashville was 12 South. It is a trendy, up-and-coming area full of coffee shops, restaurants, and a lot of great places to do some shopping . It also encompasses some of those great murals that Nashville is known for. We headed out early one morning and were able to hit up all these murals in a 30 minute span before the lines started to form.

“Nashville Looks Good on You” Mural

The “Nashville Looks Good on You” mural is located right behind Moda Boutique and The Frothy Monkey.

An iced latte from The Frothy Monkey and a vanilla cream donut from Five Daughters Bakery were a perfect combo after our mini photoshoot.

Draper James Striped Wall

Did you know that Reese Witherspoon has her own store in Nashville? Well, she does, and it’s a cute one. Along the side of Draper James is this striped white and blue wall that is a great place to snap a quick pic.

“I Believe in Nashville” Mural

The “I Believe in Nashville” mural is iconic for Nashville. There are a few of these murals around Nashville, but this one is just steps from the striped white and blue wall of Draper James.

“Flowers” Mural

This had to be my absolute favorite mural, and I knew I had to take a picture at this mural before leaving Nashville. The “Flowers” mural is located on the side of Green Pea Salon.

2900 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204

“Make Music Not War” Mural

The “Make Music Not War” mural is located just steps from the “Flowers” mural. Across the street from these murals is Burger Up, a hip burger joint, which I highly recommend. I had one of the best burgers I have ever had there, and they aren’t stingy on the fries either!

“Looking Pretty, Music City” Mural

This mural was created for Madewell in celebration of their new denim edit store. As a lover of everything Madewell and following the making of this mural on Instagram, I had to see it IRL.

Weekend Casual OOTD

I posted this flat lay photo of my weekend outfit on Instagram, and I wanted to share where I got everything from. This sweatshirt has been my go-to all winter long, and I recently bought my first pair of Lululemon leggings (they are so good that I actually bought two pairs)!

This outfit is so comfortable and easy; lets just say it took me way longer to take this flat lay picture than it took me to put this outfit together.

Sweatshirt: Madewell’s Shrunken Sweatshirt. My sweatshirt, which is pictured, is no longer available, but I was able to find and link up one that is very similar. (Size: S)

Joggers: Lululemon’s Align Jogger Crop. (Size 4) What I love about these joggers is that they have the feel of a legging but give off a more dressed up appearance. I also bought the Wunder Under Crop leggings, which feel like butter on my legs. These leggings accentuate all the right places, and the high rise keeps everything in and in place. (Size 6)

Shoes: TOMS’ Black Heritage Canvas Women’s Deconstructed Alpargatas.

Wallet: Fossil’s Cleo Multifunction. This wallet is on sale for under S40!
